Less than a week
More reistically 4-5 days

I have a bit of a heavy foot. Common sense says to take it easy. Ahah woohoo

If the chain is strexhed i need a new one too i presume?
But that will be a much harder job... Dam

First replace the tensioner and see if that solves your problem

Well i googled it. And it seems like A LOT of people had this issue. Gm had to make a new design that wouldnt fail like the original did.

And it was the tensioner

Correct and the link I gave you is for the new updated tensioner. I'm surprised yours lasted this long

Last question till i do the job i think.

Basically

I remove valve cover
Zip tie the timing chain in its exact postion
remove old tensioner
replace new one
remove zip ties
valve cover

Tensioner to 54 ft lbs
Valve cover to 7.5 ft lbs

ofc lots of cleaning and making sure **** doesnt get lost in places i dont want it.

Am i correct? this is based on what ive read.

Im gunna play it safe and remove the valve cover, alot of people didnt have to. But i rely on this car, especially with new job starting tuesday first thing in the AM, and everywhere being closed sunday/monday.

Easy job. Went good. Took valve cover off player it safe.

The snap ring on the old one was broke AND it was the same design as my new one, so it was replaced previously , just failed again.
