Fed Up!

Theres a whole damn list of **** that is wrong with my car. Nothing that is major but it still pisses me off that I am paying 520 a month for this crap.

1) Headliner COMING OFF around sunroof.
2) Sunroof button trim fell off
3) Sunroof button dangling from headliner
4) Finish Chipping off wheels
5) Brakes vibrating at 10000 miles
6) Multiple interior rattles...a new one every day it seems like
7) Paint too thin on hood and bumper...chipping like crazy
8) Trunk doesn't shut right...you have to slam it
9) Won't go into first gear or reverse at times
10) The infamous idle issue
Theres more that im forgetting I'm sure but I just had to vent...

Welcome to the wonderful world of economic speed my friend! We redline owners had a few bugs to get out ourselves so I know your pain well. A couple people had their tranny drop right off the car. mmmm nice. At least yours is relatively minor in comparison. I shifted and hit myself in the face when the knob came off. Try explaining that without people thinking you're a huge jackass :-P

I feel your anger. I have three different rattle each makes its own unique sound and comes from its own area. Im just waiting for the next one.

I'm taking my car in for a new head unit, steering wheel, and I might have them check my rattles, still undecided as to whether I want some tool driving my car around for hours listening for rattles.

No that includes the difference in trade-in and payoff from my trailblazer and i went ahead and financed the tax, title, license etc. Besides that my interest rate is insane b/c i couldnt finance through GMAC and had to go through a bank.

There was a time when I was secretly hoping someone would steal my car so I could get a new one, thats how annoyed I was. Now my insurance check wouldnt cover a new one so I live with the rattles.

I get a rattle and realize it is my club. i am shocked that you guys have rattles. I believe you do.

When I read trent's post I thought he must live down a bumpy gravel road as that may cause all of his problems. I get stone chips on my hood. the rear bumper is good. no problems with interior. drivers seat is sagging a little because of my fat ass (can my be cover under warranty). My wheels are perfect but they get winter stored. I dont have a sunroof to complain about. my trunk shuts right but the hood is a little funny as it scrapes on the side of the latch. that is easy to fix though. the maybe just as easy but I need to look at to be sure. I am not sure about the tranny though. mine won't go into first gear or reverse at times too, I feel that is normal for any manual transmission. I have had many vehicles and only two that were autos. they all did this. The infamous idle issue I get it but it comes and goes at start up. no drivability problems. brakes do have a slight rattle. its the rotors and they will warp if you do any hard braking and get them hot.

that my report at 10000 miles.

Alot of these little problems such as the trunk not closing right, headlight misalignment or the sunroof button hanging are funny. I don't know about anyone here but I sure as hell wouldn't wait a week or more to get that looked at under "warranty" Do not alot of people here know how to make minor adjustments or what? Whats to do a headlight adjustment.......or adjusting the hood or trunk latch a tad. Not to **** on anyones issues or disagree that its not supposed to be this way but it's really not a big deal to do these little things by yourselves.

I did try to put the son of a bitchin sunroof button back on but its B.R.O.K.E!! As far as the trunk goes I'm not going to **** around with it and probably make it worse when its a brand new car and under warranty. Im going to have to take it in for all the other crap that requires a mechanic to fix so why not let them fix the rest of the crap at the same time?

that is why we have bumper to bumper warranty. hopefully they cover more than just the bumpers though.

From what I'm reading, it seems like when they came out with the SS N/A they took care of several of these issues. Yea, Iv'e got a squeak that sounds like the plastic moulding inside my car is being bent around, but I don't really worry about that. I have about 5500 miles on mine, so far, no big issues. I have a big scratch on one of my wheels, dunno how it got there, but theres no sense trying to get that put under warranty. Its right next to the tire, so its not really noticeable.

I've noticed my brakes are tending to act a little funny. It seems like ABS kicks in when I'm going at a slow speed on dry ground. Not too sure if its my imagination or what, but I can feel it in the brake pedal when I'm holding it down. I've got an automatic, so I haven't had any issues with the tranny not wanting to shift right, thank God. From past experience, a transmission is a bitch when it starts to mess up, even slightly.

I personally don't like the fact that the only interior lights are the map lights, but i will eventually find a solution to that.

Yea, Trent, I had to finance through a local bank myself, but I financed for 6 years and had a really good interest rate, so I suppose I got lucky.

Anyway, sorry to hear that everyone else is having so many problems out of your cars! I just hope mine doesn't start in with all of this stuff too.

Oh, and BTW, not all of us are mechanics and electricians. We can't always take care of the minor issues on our cars. Just bc I actually do turn wrenches for a living doesn't mean that I could go out and fix things on my car. Ya gotta be trained in some stuff. OK, I'm done with my little rant there for now.

We've got an '06 LS and the only rattle we have is the Radio antenna when going over speed bumps. But we're running stock tires too, so maybe that's why.

Though it's extremely annoying when it happens.
