"Floaty" suspension, and car feels like it is swaying/pulling.
So I hit something hidden in the snow back a few months ago, and ever since my car hasn't felt the same.
It feels very floaty, and when braking at low speeds the car tries to pull in random directions. On the highway, the car seems to want to drift back and forth a bit, and any bumps in the road tend to send my car pulling all over the place. Under WOT (I have an Ingalls TD installed) I have to struggle with the steering wheel to keep it straight on the road, even then its a challenge. It performs poorly compared to how it used to before I hit whatever the **** it was.
I've had it into the dealership a few times, they took apart the left cv/axle w/e its called, no damage. They put it on a lift and said the whole suspension seems intact and as tight as it should be.
Also, when I hit the hidden object, I had snows on, I have since changed my tires back to my summers.. the feeling is still there. I took my Ingalls off hoping it would do something.. but as I expected no.
Any thoughts? I don't want to have to pay the dealership to take the whole suspension/struts/shocks to pieces and charge me out the ass.
Someone said it could be a stuck caliper... but I highly doubt it. I just want my baby to drive the way she used to =(

Seriously though, sounds like you've toasted a hub on one of your front wheels...would explain the looseness and the directional change when under pressure from braking....I'd take it into a dealership have them charge me out the ass to make sure of what it was, and then do the work myself....

Check your strut.
Push on one side or the other and try to bounce it,IT shoud not bounce but stop almost imediately.
Both sides should feel the same, and try the same on the rear.
Could of bent or twisted the frame (body)
Know where in your thread did you say you had the aligment checked ?
Where you turning when you hit or was it straight on?Toe in could be out.
When you turn slightly and let go of the steering wheel does it straighten out again itself. It should
If not there is something bent that should show up when the check the alingment.
Dont take to the dealer for this ,Go to a shop that specializes alignment.

I was going straight on when i hit it, and the car straightens itself out again, it's not a constant pulling force, it's intermittent and sometimes it pulls hard, sometimes not.
Out of all those suggestions, the struts seem like they could be the prob, but you think the dealer would have caught that.. =\
I'll check it tomorrow, thanks a bunch!
If I can't figure it out I think I'll try another chevy dealership (it's all free as my car only has 17k on it, and I haven't told em I hit anything... yet :p), and then spend some money and go to an alignment specialist.

I have quite a similar problem. About 2 months ago, with 4k miles on it, i hit a curb going 70mph, probably at like a 15 degree angle, pretty rough hit. Anyway, the rim was bent to the lug nut on the front right tire and the back right was bent a little and both tires were ripped to ****. The front right fender was a little bent. I claimed it with my insurance and told them i swerved out of the way of a drunk driver and they took care of everything. First time i got my car back from the body shop, there were chips in my paint on the lip of the trunk, why did they need to take that off? Also, my frame is definitely bent, the roof is dipped in by the sunroof and water leaks through the sunroof. So far, they replaced both axles, control arm in the front, new tires and rims and a bunch of suspension work with totaled around $9000. Now my car sways and pulls as well and something rattled in the back when i backed up or went over a bump. I took it back and they ordered a roof and fixed a loose peice inthe suspension and gave me the car back until the roof comes in. Any bump, if i let go of the wheel, sends my car in random directions, and its even worse when im braking. If they fix the frame, and the roof, which i assume will be around another $5000 because i plan on complaining about a lot of other things, will my car ever drive the same? I would love to just have geico total it but how it will affect my insurance? and will i get my loan back? If it costs me $2000 or less, i'd rather get an 09ss. The current one is an 08 ss and i got no gap insurance when i bought it new, it was the last 08 ss model they had at the dealership. Any thoughts? if you even decided to read past the 2nd sentence
