fricken gas fill issue not solved
ok so when i fill up with gas, the pump keeps shutting off every few seconds, figured it was the vent solinoid, changed it, no change, so now i dont know what to do, any ideas? vent hose on car damaged? ill check tomorrow, anyone have this issue and fix it?

Are you always filling at the same station? The Chevron station in town always did that to me. Friggin frustrating. Went over to the Shell station, never had the issue again. The Shell station didn't have the same emissions vapor catcher dodad on the dispenser.

Today, after putting gas on my car it didn't start anymore but before it happened, it had a problem every time I put gas I had to accelerate the engine for it to start. This time it didn't start, it seems like the engine is trying but it no longer works. What it could be? Any ideas

Most likely an issue with your evap canister, the vent valve, or the vent tube to the filler neck. A stuck open purge valve would cause the MIL to come on for a large evap leak. The pumps shut off when there is a certain amount of pressure in the fuel tank. As you fill up with fuel, if the vapor pressure can't be absorbed by the canister, the pump will keep shutting off.

co op is crap i know, but husky is great. only place with good gas around here. 94 octane. there is no chevron here. we got esso, co op husky, shell and thats it. shell station is out of service due to renovations, they are getting more pumps, hope they are getting some better gas , that be nice.

yes im using the right octaine . im using 94. my car loves the stuff. every other gas station around only has 91. husky is where all the performace cars in town go to get gas, cause no one else offers anything above 91. shell station is getting new pumps, so maybe they will get something better. its not my purge solinoid or my vent solinoid, both have just been changed. so its gotta be the canister itself or the vent hose on the filler neck. ill have a look i guess. dont enjoy taking that canister down. anyone have any idea how the canister works on the inside.?

Just because it's a higher octane does not mean it's better fuel. There are only a few gas refining companies in Canada. They sell the gas out to everyone(Canadian tire, Costco, esso, ultramar etc) and then the companies put in their own additives and detergents.
If you aren't tuned for 94 I don't think it's doing anything that 91 wouldn't. I heard that gas is shipped in 86 and 91, and to obtain 89/94 they add in a percentage of ethanol to kick up the octane to the desired number. To get 89 they mix low and high grade together. So they have just two tanks instead of 3 or 4.
I usually go Esso/PetroCan since they have touchless car wash's and I have accumulated over $500 worth of points from the two places in my life's driving history. Still saving em for a rainy day.
PS: Don't ya love when they are out of all octane's except 91. And you get it for same price as 87. Yeah baby.

Would u use 91 In an 87 octane vehicle? Cause I'm guessing it's the same story is it not? Allot of people don't know the actual difference. Just make sure Ur not secretly hurting Ur car all I'm getting at there.

the 94 here may have up to 10 % ethinal. and damaging seals? come one man. maybe the fuel injector seals which it hasnt so far and ive been using it for a few years. and yes i am tuned for the 94. i tried tuning for 91 co op, and tuner, vince at trifecta, noticed right away it was ****, shell 91 gave me knock at wot. 94 my car loves. alot of guys on here run 93 and above even e47-e85. but if they are on e they get the seals for it. 91 octane is for stock tune or if u got nothing better guys, or r u all new to the cobalt turbo.

I'm having this EXACT same issue. Would greatly welcome any suggestions on what to try (and hopefully steer this thread back on topic).
