Front end shaking while braking

Front end shaking while braking
Yes, I have searched the forums extensively and while I do have an idea what might be wrong based on other posts, I've been working on this problem for the better part of a year. Basically, under heavy braking, the car wants to shake itself apart. Usually, I need to be going 50mph+ before it rears its ugly head, but it does happen to a lesser extent at lower speeds.
In the past year or so, here's what I've done to try to correct/minimize the problem:
I bought the car used in '08 with about 34k on it, so struts, shocks and springs are all most likely original. It has 94k now and I'm planning on ordering every single piece of hardware, including mounts, bushing, nuts/bolts to replace all 4 corners soon ($$$). The car is NOT lowered at all, is a daily driver and I would prefer not to put any parts on it that are going to create a harsh(er) ride. I live/work in Toledo, Ohio. If you know the area, you'll understand why I can't lower the car. We have stretches of road here that are almost entirely cold-patch.
The shaking started off faintly about a year or so ago and has progressively gotten worse. The shaking seemed to ramp up a notch after the control arm install, even though the car seemed more solid otherwise.
My main area of focus is going to be brakes and specifically, the rotors. However, I'm to the point of not wanting to to throw more money at the problem, without a plan of attack.
I would appreciate any advice about other places to look, unless everyone thinks it's a warped rotor? This seemed to be the consensus from all of my searching. Mostly because I think I've tried everything else. See my sig for other car details, or let me know if something vital is missing from above.
In the past year or so, here's what I've done to try to correct/minimize the problem:
- Steering wheel intermediate shaft
- Moog sway bar end links (quieted the front end considerably, did not affect the shaking)
- Control arms (2008+ part) (front end seemed more solid, more below)
- Powerslot rotors with Hawk HPS pads (these may be due, but pads still look good)
- Tires, BFG geforce KDWS (~30k, plenty of tread, balanced late last year)
- Alignment (x2) last year (once early in the year, then again after the control arm install)

Def going to be the rotor unless your new TCAB bushing ripped, which is possible. Find a machine shop around you that can check the runout, most should do it for free or cheap if you indicate you'll buy the replacement parts or have them turn it.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm always very careful when installing brakes and will most likely be replacing both front calipers at the same time. I don't believe they just warped themselves, there has to be a reason.

Yeah, I'm not sure what to think, as I've been using PowerSlot rotors for a long time. It was all I used on my Camaro and I never had an issue like this. That's why I'm suspecting something is up with the caliper(s).
I'm looking at some PowerStop rotors now, but if anyone has any better suggestions, I don't mind spending a bit more, if it's worth it.
