i called gm today and told them how i brought my car in to the dealership and how they replaced the intermediate shaft and then after that didn't fix the problem they said it was normal. Well the lady at gm said that the knock i'm describing does not sound normal to her and that i should bring my car back into the dealership, and if they say it's normal it needs to be documented on the computer. So i made a appointment for tomorrow, hopefuly the dealership doesn't give me a line of bullshit.

after a few hours at the dealership they said the intermediate shaft they replaced is defective and that gm has produced even a better updated shaft and will replace it again.. so hopefully this works.

you have to order the new steering cloumn at your local gm dealer they don't keep them in stock atleast ours dosn't and as far as putting it in they really arn't to hard to do you just have to watch that your steering wheel dosn't spin to much while your pulling it down because you run the risk of your air bag wire rapping up around the inside of the column and this is not a fake post i work at frederick chevrolet in lebanon PA Look it up its there

just came back from the dealership.. this was the second time they replace the intermediate shaft and guess what... it's still doing the damn clunk noise.. So I called them back and now they want me to drop the car off tomorrow for the day and they'll get me a rental. The thing that sucks is my dad needs to sign for the rental so i won't be able to get it since he works in the afternoon. Oh and the people working on my car got grease all over my seats, doors, and even the lining of the roof of the car..

i had the strut and strut mount put in.. the clunk is not as bad anymore but is still there, so i brought it back to them and now i have a rental car... This is my 4th time for this problem, can't i file a lemon claim?

Unfortunately you can't file a lemon claim, as the problem was never fixed to begin with. The problem has to occur 3 times in I believe a year or two period of time. Since they never really fixed the problem, it doesn't apply. Mine is also in for the 3rd time. They replaced the hubs and the noise went away for a day or two and is now back. They gave me a loaner car. They wanted to give me a Kia Sorrento, I laughed in there face, so I have a Bonneville. What a slug, and don't get me started on the handling. This car doesn't even have XM and I had to listen to talking this morning....They better get this problem fixed and soon. I am having XM withdrawals. I can't even listen to it over the internet at work.
