Frozen display on dash

So I wanted to check the outside temperature. It would not move, the display just reads the trip, it will not cycle thru the reading like oil % or tire pressure. Tried hitting the info button a number of times still frozen. Turned the car off and came back an hour later same thing .
Ideas?

Pretty sure you have to take the air bag out to get to them. Atleast that's how it is if you want to paint the trim on the steering wheel.

^ this. I replaced my wheel. They have to be removed with the wheel off for the easiest way.

The other buttons work like volume& mute .The cruise control lights up. I live in Laguna Beach, CA it gets maybe 50degrees at night. I got it to cycle once today. Then it froze again. At least it's stuck on mileage and outside temp. Traction control works too. Love Competition mode on PCH

I wonder if there might be some pinched wires, or if the clock spring might be going bad. I know that'd give you an airbag light, but the wiring goes through that part. These buttons can be taken apart to clean out, you just have to be careful with them when you're removing them down to the circuit board.

The radio controls are on a different circuit as are the cruise buttons and DIC buttons. Try a new switch first or clean your old one. You can remove them by releasing the airbag from the steering wheel. You don't necessarily need to disconnect the bag to do this. Just be careful not to pull or stress the air bag connector wires much. Just release the air bag clips and move the bag to he side a little. You'll have enough room to get to the star bolt holding the bezel in place.

Well i have a similar problem to that if my rpd doesnt turn on my steering wheel controls wont work. You should check some fuses thats my problem if i touch the fuses the rpd works and everything starts working.
