Be an informed buyer, next time. You should have done the research.

Don't blame GM, they had nothing to do with you buying a used car.
+
You're ignorant, you signed on the dotted line without knowing what you were getting into.
=
YOUR FAULT.

General rule for me is that if I am looking at a car from a Dealership, ask for the carfax and shell out the extra 40-50 bucks for it...better to know outright what the car is like....and if someting comes up on carfax and you still want the car, use that as a bargaining tool.
If I am looking at a car from a Private seller, I pick up a carfax and if I am still interested, I have a mechanic who is familiar with that type of car come with me to check it out. If you offer to give a mechanic $100 in cash, they will almost always come out with you and spend 15 minutes to look the car over for irregularities. This way you can make sure nothing is out of the norm or not as described.
It may be a bit ****, but when shelling out for the cost of a car, I would rather spend an extra few hundred to make sure the car is in acceptable condition.
I have actually saved thousands by using the carfax at a BMW dealer. I also managed to avoid buying a 68 Mustang which actually had a bent frame that was discovered by my mechanic...something which the owner did not divulge.

I'm glad that something like CarFax exsists...but am I the only one who thinks its wrong that you should have to pay for information like that? You have to pay to know the history of a vehicle? Yea, don't get me wrong...it's definatly better than not knowing...but yea. I kinda think its wrong

consider your self VERY lucky you bought it from a GM dealership. if it were any other or a private deal you would of been S O L . and even if the dealership did or did not know about the 3 accidents is not the issue. GM probably called them and said make the problem go away as they have guide lines that their dealerships have to follow towards giving good and fair service to customers buying GM cars

Paint or not, it has still been in 3 accidents. Get it painted and sell it at a loss, then start over. If you don't sell it, you're just going to be pissed about it all the time.

You guys act like carfax is the end all in car buying. Carfax only has records on insurance claims......guess how many people pay out of pocket for repair's to keep it off their insurance ......a ton. I agree that when buying a used car you should know what your looking at ....if not bring someone who does. A carfax is great but isn't going to tell the whole story on some car's .
Regardless a Chevy dealership shouldn't be sell used car's that start shedding their paint 32 days after the sale ........ I'd expect that out of some hole in the wall used car dealer but not a GM dealership.

F*ck dealerships. The dealerships are a big reason that GM didn't continue to excel and maintain dominance in the world market. My parents bought a cobalt, as did I, they were the first two GM's purchased by our family in over 15 years.
My mom's Cobalt, pretty much perfect 4 door sedan. My Cobalt is perfect except for a couple things. Biggest problem being my passenger door makes contact, I've got records of coming into the dealer 3 times to get it fixed, and each time they've told me it's not the door. The service manager there even had the nerve to tell me that the damage is being caused by something else making contact. I've taken it to auto shops and each say it's obvious that the contact is between the door and the body. Yet this dealer, would not take responsibility. How much would you want to bet that if I brought it back now, now that it's NOT under warranty, they'll tell me it's the door making contact and they can fix it?
The last GM we owned was a Camaro. It was such a cool car, F-Body I believe a 92. BUT, of course it had issues the entire 5 years we owned the car, noises and electrical issues. And this is on a car with zero mods. The dealers kept saying they could find nothing making noise or witness the electrical issues.
Pretty much every person I know has their GM dealership war story.
So, while yes it is the dealer he should be pissed at, the actions of these dealers directly reflect upon GM.
This is another reason why GM has cut a large amount of dealer contracts, required that new GMs are sold with only other new GMs, and is ramping up on the image of GM service(think about all the Goodwrench commercials as of late!). The news of this new 60 days money back guarantee they are offering now even further speaks of the confidence GM corporation has behind its products.
BUT, if the dealers won't truly honor the full extent of the warranties, nor honor customers by selling good new/used GM products at GM dealers, GM is still doomed. It's always been about the dealerships. They suck, always have sucked, that's why GM is said to suck.

Between my wife and I we have had almost 20 GM vehicles and the one time we have had a major issue was with a new 05 equinox . It blew the head gasket at 12K miles .... blew the rearend at 18K and had the drive shaft carrier explode right around 20K. Everything was covered but it was a pain in the ass. Other than that it's all been little stuff . I had a 95 Z28 that i bought new and sold with 90K miles on it . It had well over 200 quarter mile passes on it and never had one issue. Oil and filters was it .....I didn't ever replace a set of brake pads or rotor's it's whole life......unbelievable i know ....but true. It needed them when i sold it but it's still a pretty good testament to how good that car was.
