fuse block frustration

I just bought a used 06 SS and am learning a few things about it.
For one, the interior light in the rear view mirror did not work. After confirming that there was not power at the light, I went to the fuse block. The owner's manual has a diagram that does not match the layout of my fuse block. After noticing that some of the fuses were missing, one of them happened to be my light and it worked when I popped in a 10 amp fuse. My question is where do I find out the correct labeling of my fuses and their correct sizes? Has anyone else ran into this issue? I am not impressed with the owner's manual at all.

instead of looking at the owners manual, just use the diagram on the back of the fuse panel cover.....unless someone ripped it off

Yeah, the fuse sizes and locations should be on the lid of whatever fuse panel you're in.
