GM F**Ks another customer again!!!
Soooo....I have had it with this ******* car. I will never bye GM ever again. I am putting this car up for sale.
I get a call from Jack Carter This morning and they will not warrenty the master cylinder on my car. They claim that the Clutch pressure is the cause for the failure and not the fact that the master cylinder is a cheap peice of plastic ****.
I am so pissed off right now I can't believe it.

Here is what the damage looks like that they say they wont fix.
You are standing looking at the firewall from the front of the car. The tabs you see are bent. You can also see the small stress fractures on the sides of the tabs in the fire wall. They told me I would have to take the car to a performance shop to have it fixed so that they could welld up a braket or something to make it stronger.

If the teeth that interlock the clutch master cylinder are screwed on the plate (bent or broken) and will not accept a new clutch master cylinder it's a $50 part and about 10 hrs of labor (if you know what your doing). You have to tear the entire dash apart to get to the screws that hold the firewall plate in place. The screws are BEHIND the dash, the plate is flimsy metal and will not withstand welding. A new clutch master cylinder costs $120 (US). The dealership broke mine cause they didn't know what they were doing and didn't know it twists off, they won't fix it. Too costly for them.
Here is the diagram pictures of how everything is assembled thru the plate.
taking the dash apart is the worst, putting it all back together is easy. the plate took a half hr after it was accessible.

There is still no "how-to" but some people are upgrading to C5 vette master cylinders. It's still a PITA to install, but they don't have the issues with failing, and you can modify the firewall while you're there.

take a chance and go to war with GMAC.... tell them ur not gonna pay ur payments unless they fix it... see wat happens... my mom bf did it with his 07 serria... and they just took the truck back and nothing happened to his credit

Got my $210 back and heres how I did it.
When you stand there and shrug your shoulders and tell me my 30K car is screwed and you don't know what I should do and I have to go and figure it out for you and then come back and tell you, then you should be paying me. I told the service manager I was going to charge him my daily rate as a consultant for doing his job. When I told him what that was he almost choaked. They said I owed $210 for the work they already did which was **** all by the way, so thats when I said OK, as a consultant I am billed out at 500-600 CAD/day once I leave the office so it took me 6 hours of my time to research what to do + the full day I had to take off to get my car over to the other dealer who bye the way knew how to fix it, you now owe me 440 CAD.
So here is how I broke it down.
30 hr of my time (man field hours)
600 daily rate/24 in a day = $25/ man hour x 30 man hours = $650/day man hr rate
then take $650 - $210 (they charged me) = 440 CAD you owe me for my time doing your job + agrivation.
Well when I told him that he takes a step back and says you aren't serious are you and I said yes I am. I then told him that if I were to charge my client xxx amount for my product then bill them but phone them up after I take their money and say thanks for paying me to do the job but I don't think I can complete it, do you think I would be in bussiness for long. So he sys well no and I say EXACTLY!!!!
So in the end he did not charge me for the work.

yep. I seen you had to do the same thing I did
Was any of my information helpful a week or two back? That's about how my car looked. Also, when you hook the steering wheel back up your going to need to get an alignment cause the steering wheel will never go back on without looking like it's turning when it's straight.
It's sad that it has to come down to this. All this just to reach a few god damn bolts that I wish they would have put on the OUTSIDE of the firewall not the inside.
