I could be wrong, but I dont think the oil pan is made of aluminum.

i think a 6 speed would hurt us more than help us unless you had much better gear ratios

SAAB or Opel, it doesnt matter, its all GM. So saying its not made by GM is false.

thank you. gm > saab.
my tranny didnt crack at the exterior of the bellhousing. the case cracked inside the bell housing, covering my clutch and flywheel in oil.
my oil pan was not hit by anything internally or externally. i barely EVER drive this car. never had severe wheel hop
as for the comment about the civic Si, im not going to get started. not the time nor place.

Get a hold of your states d.o.t. and file a complaint. This happens frequently in washington on the on ramps. people get flat tires, damaged rims, oil pan problems. and the dot will most of the time write them a check to get the items fixed and then they also go out and have the pothole filled so it doesnt continue to be a problem.
