grinding noise in engine bay
ok heres whats going on..
low coolant shows up on the screen, car seems to be overheating at idle (havent let it get past 220), open the hood and theres some residue on the s/c snout, excessive heat is coming from the engine bay and i hear like a grinding noise.. any ideas?
and yes i have used the search tool

What residue is on snout of sc? is it a black powder from your belt? No coolant under your car in the morning? Maybe 2 problems? Blown head gasket AND slipping belt?
Coolant on your belt? Low coolant/overheating is the issue that kinda leads to head gasket and if thermostant is stuck closed you can warp head and lead to gasket leak.
IDK what else anyone else?
