having a bit of an issue

ok guys i have a 2010 base model cobalt with a 2.2 engine. no mods done to it. so far this has happened twice. i press on the gas and my car slowly speeds up, even though i have it to the floor. is it having problems shifting gears? its a automatic. and suggestions on what i should do? i do know if i let off the gas for a few minutes and press it again, it fixes the problem. what would be causing this?

I wouldn't rack my brain over it ... Take it to the dealer and make them figure it out

Your not flooring it right away are you, because when you lose traction power is reduced until you get it back. Try accelerating in low gear see if it still does it.

The 4 speed autos have a bit of a sweet spot for downshifting to 2nd. If you're going just a little bit to fast the car will keep you in 3rd. All GMs are like that. Its a programming thing.

Its not entirely fixable.. but you can make the car more responsive with a tune. That includes shifting tables etc.

i had an 07 2.2 for awhile, but standard...if i came to a stop and went to go...just giving it a little gas it would rev up like crazy and wheel hop till i let off the gas....it was nuts...i almost got me into an accident twice and im sure my axles didn't like it...they found it to be a faulty issue with the tb.... the tb was interpreting the info as me stomping on the accl when actually i wasn't... i dunno anyway it was replaced under warranty and it fixed the issue.
