Headlight beam alignment help

I installed new bulbs in my headlights tonight with no problem, I have done it before. Then I went to the parking lot, to go line up the headlights. Well I had the driverside and passengers side beams lined up pretty good, and I went to tweak the passengers side just a little and the bulb just drops right out of alignment. So I drive my car back home to my garage and take the passengers headlight out, twist off the alignment piece, and for some odd reason the rod the connects to the inside of the headlight assembly wont stay connected. So I can adjust the headlight down but not up because it wont stay connected. Anyways Im just so frustrated because I can't figure it out right now and was just wondering if anyone on here has had this problem or could help me. Otherwise im just gona get a good nights sleep and screw with it in the morning.... And I cant find a single diagram of the headlight on the internet.... but I found this, thought it was interesting...http://www.gmgoodwrench.com/gmgoodwr...t&model=Cobalt

Thanks,
