tuned correctly you should have little to no fear, these engines are really stoutt. Majority of them hold up really really well modded. Personally i havent heard of an lsj blowing up randomly, not to say it wont happen but odds are it probably wont. Especially with a good tune and proper care and driving habits. Im sure others would agree. But from time you start modding that an inherent risk you take on under "pay to play mantra"

Best thing you can do is do a lot of research and ask a lot of questions...for the power level your looking at there are a lot of options to take. TVS is fun but takes a bit more to hit the power range your after , a turbo swap can get you there more easily. If you really want to hit that power range with a supercharger are you willing to run meth or e85, possibly even some NOS?

Personally I'm going after a tvs build because I enjoy the power curve of a supercharger, I have access to e85, and a happy button for more power is a dream of mine and I find the scream of a supercharger intoxicating

Another thing to consider, have you ever going for a pull in a car with 350whp (similar weight if not a coblt) that can be a lot of power to some, and others not enough power. Just randomly picking whp numbers because it sounds good is not a good way to pick your power goals.

I have an '07, see mods in sig. Don't know how much power I'm putting down. Reading on here seems to suggest 260 - 280 whp. Has a Spec stage 3+, and I don't like it. It's almost done though, and I'm going to try the GMPP then.
TVS is on my "someday" list. Ported head and cams first
