The tick's still there.. I'll have to get to that after I get this little mishap finished.
Wow, lol. Thanks, man. Yeah, I'm getting it helicoiled already. I'll keep the thread updated.
Don't you think this would've happened a lot sooner, if that were the case? I changed these plugs a year and half ago, and probably have like 15k+ miles on them.
I'm not saying you're wrong, but I obviously had another problem prior to this that could've been the cause.
you folks really should torque the spark plugs. The LSJ spark plug has a gasket, needs to be tightened, undone 3/4 of a turn and re-torqued. Its a scandal this happens, and its not the fault of the engine... sad to say. Glad you may be out of the woods Gelladuga, good luck.

Ok.
He drove all the way down. No problem. 800 miles or so.
Next day we left from the hotel in convoy, en route to the Dragon; 20 minutes out, he suddenly pulled over; his left front wheel started to fall off.
It takes time for a loose spark plug to work back and forth and wreck the threads. It will keep on working as it backs up the thread, until so few threads are hanging on, and "boom" it spits the plug out.
thats my take on it.

look at it this way. Story time: USMC field marshall came down with me on road trip from Finlay Ohio to Knoxville Tenn for a TOTD run. In Finlay we met up, I came down from Canada, we worked on his car, and then as we put the wheels on and went to drop it down on the ground I asked if he torqued his wheels. "Naaa. I got this, gudentite"
Ok.

Update - Helicoiled thread, replaced spark plug and coil. No more misfire and no more ticking. I still feel like there's a very small audible one but that's probably the injectors more than anything, because this tick before was audible with the hood closed. Not exactly sure of the cause, but the car is running great now.
For future reference, if you hear a tick from the stage left of your engine, check the spark plugs.
