So like the in the title, under 2500 rpm it hesitates a bit in 3rd gear, i thought well its not enough to care but then P0171 came up saying running too lean. my car is bone stock, 2006 supercharge.

the mechanic said its the O2 sensor. any suggestions? he cleared it yesterday and its back this morning.

update.

i noticed my air intake (stock) was unclipped! put it back and a day later the CEL went away and no more hesitation! i hope that was the problem, i must of unclipped it when changing my oil which is when it came on!

I am going to guess he unhooked some stuff around the throttle body to gain access to the oil filter, and just forgot to plug a sensor or tubing back up.

no the tubing got unhooked. it was hard to tell just by looking at it but when you look close it wasnt on at all.
