Hot Air Only ???
Hi,
I have a problem today. When I put my ventilation on in my car at the coldest setting, it's only hot air that's coming out (very hot).
Any idea what this could be? Can it be related to my cold air intake at all?
Thanks
Gabriel

Whether I put the A/C button on or not, I only get boiling hot air (not boiling cause air doesn't boil but you get the point).
Any more ideas?? lol
Thanks!! Haha!!

Blend door has failed or is stuck in the heat position, or something in the control end (temperature setting) has bitten it.
If you still have your 3/60* warranty it should be covered.
And a cai will not cause this, no relation to the climate control system whatsoever.
* thats 3/36 for our neighbors

If does need to be recharged I don't think the stealership is gonna cover it. Now if it is faulty manufacturer equipment that is causing the problem then it should be covered as long as you still have a warranty left. My advice take it to them and ask them whats wrong if they say somethings broken make them fix it. If they say it needs to be recharged take it to an ac shop and have it recharged or go to autozone and pick up a couple cans of R134a refrigerant and do it yourself.

If the blend door is not operating correctly it will continue to direct air through the heater core and heating it instead of directing it around the heater core and not heating it.
And again, if you are still under the 3 year 60000km, it should be covered.

No. The air coming in is being directed over the heater core. In winter, this is a good thing.

Hopefully it's a broken hose or something. Is it possible I would have broken a hose while installing the CAI? HAs that ever happened to anyone?

I called yesterday and my warranty just ended 7 days ago. I'll bring it to a local shop and see what they come up with. I'll let you guys know Monday when I bring it.

Don't think you would get anywhere near the climate control bits doing a cai install but.....?
Good luck!

But now my warranty is done so it's time to go seem him with the Balt! He's very competent and I'm not too concerned. Hopefully he'll fix the problem.
Now, whenever I put the Vent or A/C there's a lot of whisteling noises? Any ideas now?

I wouldnt get to worried about the blend door actuators and such quite yet
When these cars get a little low on freon, it will shut off the a/c compressor to save it. Go get ur a/c charged and a leak test done at a local shop. should cost ya about 80 bucks on average. It is very possible that you are just low on freon from a miniscule leak, or from normal evaporation over time.

The thing is I get super hot air when my A/C isn't even on. Usually when you put the ventilation on without A/C it's still relatively cool unless it's very hot outside. It's as if I'm getting air direct from the engine.
My mechanic change the motor that controls the hot / cold valve, so we're hoping the problem gets fixed. I'll keep you posted.

UPDATE: Today we had a really warm day and my problem has come back. Now when I put the A/C on I get about 5 minutes of super hot air and then 2 minutes of cold air and then hot air, cold air, hot air, etc...
Any ideas what my problem may be?
Thanks
