I broke my car :(

On the way home from work about a month a half ago (I'm lazy and have been procrastinating) I was on the freeway and gave my car the money shift from 5th to 2nd instead of 4th, fail I know, and after that my car has been running like ****. It sounds like a subaru, but no misfire. My fuel injectors are leaking. All of my cylinders get low compression, and when I'm driving I can hear a small ticking coming from the passenger side of the engine when it's under low compression. I've been daily driving it about 60 miles everyday since then. It's not burning oil and I still get the same gas mileage. Only thing is it sounds like a damn subaru and there is no power anymore. I need help figuring out whats wrong so I can enjoy my car again.

Well lets use some common sense then... It's a 09 Cobalt... So I'm assuming you have a warranty... take it to the dealer.

x2. There are plenty of posts regarding this and they all describe the same symptoms as you do. Unfortunately the dealer will not warranty over revving and they know that is the cause of broken rockers. But hey, some dealers may still do it. so i would recommend you take it to a few different dealers and see what happens. if not, youll have to do the work yourself or get someone else to do it. i wouldnt recommend driving the car until you get it done.

Problem solved! Pulled off the valve cover and 2 rocker arms were laying there completely intact. I just loosened up the cam shaft and the tension on the chain and put those jawns back.

is ur power and compression back and everything now??

this happened to me one time in my orange cobalt. luckily it had a fully built motor at the time from wsfrazier so i think it worked out just fine. that and i was only diong like 65 so it was just barely out of 2nd gear.

Compression was bad because the valves were stuck open? If so, I don't see how you could have not had valve-to-piston contact.
