I need help!

Hello,

So me and a buddy are replacing the head on my car because i blew a spark plug and we are on re-assembly and i broke the camshaft housing(rookie mistake). Does anybody know where i can get one.

I was also curious if a Cobalt SS/NA camshaft housing would work because my buddy works at a junkyard and has one in there.

If anybody has any info that would be great! Thanks!

you mean one of the caps that go over the cams? well CED sells them in the link below. you gotta contact them with the part number you need

a 2.4 cap will not fit.

and beware, these engines are line-machined after assembly so a new or different one might not fit perfect so be prepared to scuff where the surfaces mate nicely

Haha. Like I said. Rookie mistake. It wasn't sitting in it right and it just broke when I tightened it down.

oh well that's still a cap. i.e., parts 217 or 251.

i actually got a ported head and wound up needing to use the ones off of my stock head. used some scuffing pads and trans fluid to get the mating surfaces flush... no shavings in oil yet :x

So i checked with Crate Engine Depot and im not willing to pay $341 for a camshaft housing. I found one on Ebay for 242 but still wasnt looking to pay that much. Is there another car i can get it from? Can i take it out of a 2.0 Cobalt LS or LT? or does anybody know anybody who is parting out there car?

Really need some help here guys! Thanks!
