IC Pump Tips?
Gotta do the IC pump soon, Haven't seen any How to's and usually the book makes it longer than it should be, anyone got some tips on how they removed it and replaced?
Plus a ETA?

I *JUST* Did mine today.. It took me 2 hours.
Factory Clamps = PITA..
My pliers kept sliping off, also,
part of the clamp fused to the hose. This made it difficult to wiggle
Eventually I got the clamp momved up the hose, and could get the pump out.
Getting the outlet hose off was kind of a pain too.
Those were the only hard parts...
2 Bolts hold on a removable bracket. Dont forget to put that rubber peice back arroun your new pump
Torque is about 88 Inch lbs.
I had actually thought about doing a "how to" for it...
Anyhow, the fluid that drained out wasn't nearly as much as i thought it would be. Only a quart or two.
I never did put my factory clamps back on. As of right now, no clamps, had to get some from Advanced,
The nipples on the pump are long enough and the hose is tight enough that its not super critical, but I do
plan on putting clamps on it tomarrow.

find the brushes and rebuild it for 10 bucks, I did it a while ago in less than two hours and it was pretty easy.
To get the clamps off, i cut them in half with a dremel and cutoff wheel. hose got nicked a little bit but survived.

whats the longest u ran with a DEAD IC PUMP??
I think my car is Alot louder in the engine bay than it used to be and that's because of the IC pump went bad. But idk how long ago, and i do get on it from time to time on the highway. What will go first my blower or engine?
my vavles r really loud i might need new ones but my cars doesn't knock

you can go forever with out the IC pump but your IAT2's will skyrocket and can cause you to detonate and cause internal damage. You can try getting a jack extension or hammer and tap the IC pump as the cars running and most the time that will free up the brushes and buying you a couple more months.I wouldnt go WOT without the pump though. The IC pump being out will not cause increased engine noise. You might want to look into that though as it doesnt sound too healthy.

thanks for your input. When i had the car checked out it seemed louder than usual and the mechanic explained your car has 90k+ miles its wear and tear he said it sounded normal but to me i don't think it should be this loud but idk it could be my head

follow the hoses down.its right underneathe the blower and intakemanifold.youll see 2 hoses going to it and a electrical connector on the opposite side
also power steering is electric on our car.(no pump) the ac compressor is under the alternator
