Intercooler help - dealer's not honoring warranty

I was driving on the highway Saturday evening, I gave the car some gas to pass into the other lane then I heard a pop and lost all boost. Found out that the intercoolers endtank has a hole at the top and the dealer isn't honoring the warranty claiming that I hit something or something got kicked up and broke it. I have a 2010 SS. What can I do at this point?

Either of these. It's one of those things that it's hard for the customer to prove wasn't their fault by hitting something, especially if your lip is already scraped up.

They are prone to Pop... Many have had it happen. Upgrading to a Turbo XS one will prevent any future issues.

Check out the Hahn intercooler. They cut their price in half and it's by far the best and largest intercooler out there

From my observations, although they do happen, end tank issues are not that common ~ they are most common on cars which are running high boost ~ or cars which have actualy (physically) hit the end tanks...
A local (lowered) hit his last week - and just opted to upgrade... he ended going with the MPx unit.

call GM customer service again;
ask them if there's another dealer in your vicinity that they would reccommend you go to;
Tell them why you're asking - and what's going on...

My brother was having issues with some of the local Dodge dealers not wanting to deal with his clutch concern - or his hood concern, and a couple calls later Dodge Canada suggested a different dealer whom he should go to...

Long story short, both of my brother's issues are now resolved.

So you have a hole in at the top of the end tank, i.e. not anywhere near where a curb could make contact? And the dealer is still trying to put the blame on you? Wow. That sucks, but good luck getting it replaced.

I would raise it to the regional manager or someone else above a GM Customer Service rep. Half the time they just recite back to what is covered under the bump to bumper warranty. If there is no sign of impact on the bottom of the intercooler (scrapped, dents) or near the top of of your intercooler and you raise enough hell, they'll either give in or call out someone to verify it. If you are tuned it's not looking good.

Unfortunately for you there were probably, Cobalt SS owners that tried to abuse the warranty before you at this dealership + lack of knowledge on our cars( at most dealerships ). Alot of dealerships stereotype the owners that purchase these cars = automatic Deny of warranty unless proven "innocent" type of deal.
