JBP CAI install
Hey guys, well I attempted to install my JBP Vortex CAI last night. After a lot of struggling, cursing and drinking I finally got it in. Now I didnt re-route the MAF cabling which resulted in it being stretched out pretty good and on a weird angle. When I put everything back together and started the car up it wouldnt idle. I reset the computer by disconnecting the battery for a few mins then reconnected. When I started it up again it still wouldnt idle by itself. It would go up to around 1500-2000rpms then come down to like 250rpms then kick itself back up, it would smoothen out a bit, but still no where near satisfactory. I finally said screw it and took the car for a drive, the car ran good after the first 100ft, pulled like hell and the scream was something to die for. After about 5 mins of driving the car was perfect, pulled back into the driveway, let the car idle for like 10 mins and the idle had smoothened out. Thought everything was A.O.K, turned the car off, cleaned up my mess of beer bottles, blood and tools then tried to start the car up again. It started, but back to square 1 with the idling problems.
Anyone got any ideas?

Its black.. supposedly its the 2nd gen one... When I look on their site I noticed that they are suppsoed to have some sort of nice nampeplate on the intake itself... this one does not, just came with a ghetto ass sticker that you gott apply yourself! LoL

The second run JBP intakes do not actually fit....chances are you had a leak somewhere. We have had 2, second run intake in the shop and none of them clear the brake lines among many other fitment issues.
The injen provides the best results, looks killer and is affordable. We ship all over Canada too

less pain in the ass fitment wise and gains are still there, maybe not as much as the fugita but hey, overal in every aspect the injen may actaully be the way to go.

I think thats my problem as well, however I am not satisfied at all with the fitament of this, its too tight and rubs like EVERYWHERE... I will be contacting JBP asking for a revised version. As of right now I will caution everyone that this product does not fit

again I'll say there are no 3" CAI that actually fit without rubbing or touching anywhere.
if you go smaller, piping you can get it to fit, but you limit your potential in the future
