jerky steering

I am having a problem with my 2006 lt sedan. The steering has recently become jerky. There is like one or two spots to the left and to the right of the wheel that when I steer over it will become stiff until I pass over that specific spot. So say I turn the wheel all the way to the right or left, there will be one or two spots during that turn that will be stiff, making the turn jerky. I am not sure what the problem is, if its fluid or something is broken or what, so I am looking for help.

Thanks,

Kenny

Well it can't be power steering fluid, because there is none in this car, it's got electric assist power steering. Could be a bad power steering motor or something in the steering rack. Did you ever get the power steering motor recall done?

I wish I could do more than refer you to GM of Canada for for help in working with a dealership (if you were to go that route), but I am currently only able to assist US customers. You can get in touch with them at 800-263-3777.
I hope you get some great input from the forum users, and that you can get this steering concern resolved,
Sarah
