K&N Filter = CEL..??

Hey guys,

So, as of lately, I've been trying to correct some problems I've been haivng with my car.. Over the summer, I was so caught up in buying mods that eventually **** started going wrong.. Instead of fixing it then, I've waited, and now I'm trying to correct everything.. I'm taking my crankcase breather back to the normal hose, and I'll be converting my SRI to a full CAI when I trade away my ram air hood.. But I'm also wondering something else.. Over the summer, I bought a K&N cone filter for my Injen intake.. It's the Ultra Flow one with the opening on the top as well.. The **** looks dope under the hood.. But I'm wondering if it's causing problems because it's an oiled filter as opposed to an AEM style dry-flow one? I'm not even sure what the stock Injen filter was, but I can always go back to that.. Lemme know because I'm trying to do a few things this week..

Thanks!!

I did the stock intake airbox mod and used a K&N high flow cone filter and it actually caused a CEL in my car......im pretty sure it was because of too much air and not from the oil because i use a K&N drop in filter all the time and never get a CEL so just a bit of info you might be able to use.......Later

A K&N filter can get oil on you MAF and make it run/idle funny until it is cleaned.Though I haven't had a problem with mine.

ive used both the k&n drop in and cone in my ls since i bought it in 06. no cel's. this may be a dumb question, but did you unplug your battery when you switched from the injen cone to the high flow? if not the extra air may have caused it. just a guess tho. good luck.

Well, Im gonna switch back to the hose instead of the breather filter and convert to a full CAI instead of the SRI.. I'll probably put the Injen filter back on for now because the winter is kicking our ass here right now, so I don't want to get by good filter all mucked up.. I'll try it again in the spring..
