I've been researching this issue because my battery was dead when i went to start my car, now the key is stuck in the ignition. I've read all about the compartment under the steering wheel, but how do I pop it off? Haha, maybe I'm just dumb but I can't get it off for anything!

yeah ive seen a few threads on it. Seems to be a common issue.

OP: If you're under warranty still. Take it to the dealer. With me, they had to replace the cylinder, and in my case, they gave me new keys.

That happened to me one time, It wouldn't let me start my car either, just go to ACC. I called onstar an all types of people... I ended up turnin my wheel an it came out lmao

haha i learned that trick when i was a valet and i got some keys stuck in a BMW... had to find the owner and tell him what happened and he looked at me like a retard and told me the magic trick of turning the wheel to the left then the right... after that i enjoy when this happens to other drivers lol makes me feel less dumb

I've tried turning my wheel it doesn't help. It won't turn all the way back to off.
