key stuck in ignition

Well im out to dinner with my girlfriend and I go to turn my car off and one slight problem my key is stuck in the ignition in the on position. So with that I couldn't turn my car off. So had yo bring it home and stall it and disconnect the battery. That was at 8 last night and its still stuck. Ruined my Friday night. So now back to the dealership for my car yet again. The never ending process of owing a Balt

just got mine back from the dealer. Free of charge. Used onstar and roadside came and got it. It was still running when the flatbed pulled away. This is the only prob I have had with my balt (knock on wood) but it only has 5000 miles on it.

I don't think the turbo'd balts have that release button. Mine is in the shop right now with this problem...

Just happened with my Balt this past week. I was like WTF?

Lock cylinder and housing will both be replaced.

They don't. No manual Balts have the release.

The failure is due to the poor design of the lock cylinder. There is a re-designed lock cylinder that GM dealers are to install. Automatics can suffer from another issue that causes, at face value, the same failure. However its due to the shifter assembly getting soda spilled in it.

Jiggle the steering wheel side to side and simultaneously turn/pull the key. Works for me

Had GM roadside pick it up this morning and towed it the dealer by my work and just got it back. They covered it under a recall. The tumblers were all apparently broken.
