Nevacme,
As your vehicle is a 2010, you should be still well within your bumper to bumper warranty by date (I can check into this for you if you were to send me the last 8 of your VIN); are you thinking about getting this looked into?

My key got stuck this week. I had to take it to the dealer. My car wasn't in the initial recall, which is dumb since everyone and their dog knows about this problem with Cobalts.

Anyways, mine was fixed under warranty. New ignition cylinder and key, since the old key was permanently lodged. Here's what was left:
