Made a booboo putting wheels back on

I was putting on new brake pads today and after I was done I put the wheels back on, I came to 1 lugnut that I "thought" was on the thread of the bolt correctly but wasnt, so I impacted it down and stripped the HELL out of that little bolt. Now im running on 4 lugs.

What part number is this thing I need to replace and can the dealer warranty it or do I just buy this **** off of a website and throw it on myself?

is it the lug or the wheel stud that is stripped chances are both of them are and you will have to replace both the stud and the lug nut.

if u just need lugnuts i would just go to advanced auto or ur locala parts store and get it over with. i dont think the dealer will give you for free as it was ur fualt

the stud was stripped, i think the lug is fine

I would replace both. The is no sense in replacing the stud and use a nut that only costs a few bucks and take the chance of having problems. Please replace both!

really easy fixed. i stripped several off on one wheel because of messed up threads. go to napa and just order some studs for it. its a 20 minute fix for all 5

i bought 4 wheel studs from the dealer for 7 a piece when big-o over torqued them, and they had them in stock, so check the dealer first, it was also a very easy procedure just used a large brass mallet knocked them out then aligned the new ones up cause their star grooved, and just used open ended nuts and a impact to press them in

go to autozone, say you need a new stud. they charged me about a dollar. forget the dealer, they replace them with the stock studs which are not as sturdy as the replacements.

You guys with 5 lugs have an easy fix, you can just knock it out the old fashioned way. us guys with the 4 lug cant do that. there isnt enough clearance.

your previous post made almost no sense what so ever.

you have to unbolt the disk from the control arm on a 2.2 and its still a tight fit

2.2 need to remove the axle nut, pull the entire wheel up out to make teh necessary clearance

Advance Auto parts has the lug bolt for $1.48 each and the lug nut for $1.78
