Angry Magnaflow problem

First off....I DID search for my problem and got a couple of ideas, but nothing concrete.

So here is the problem. My exhaust sounds like a "fart can". For those who are going to say it should go away after 10 minutes, it does not do that with mine. It is constantly there when I accelerate. Even after I drive from Fort McMurray to Calgary (a 7 1/2 hour drive), it is still there when I accelerate.

I just want to see if anyone has any ideas what this could be.

Thanks!!!

It is the catback. It does not rattle, and there is nothing loose in the resonator or muffler.

I get the "fart can" sound under medium to hard acceleration, and it happens all the time. When the exhaust is cold, warm, hot....does not matter.

I think I heard a couple things about the resonator going bad. Maybe check into that.

Resonator was replaced a couple of months ago under warranty. It had started rattling. There is none of that this time.

I am using the ZZP midlength header and downpipe with the Magnaflow cat.

My Magnaflow change to a Fart Can after i Did a cat delete. It's going to happen when you get rid of the cat or go Highflow. It's a four banger get use to it.

I still have the cat, and I do not have the "high flow" cat. The baffles in the car go side to side and it looks the same inside as it does with the stock cat.

That is real odd. I have had mine on for almost 2 years and it still has the deep tone. And dont sound like a fart can. Maybe you got one of the cheaper versions of it who knows. I paid 700 for mine like 2 years ago.

Hmm, I can't decide if I want to go with Magnaflow or Corsa Touring cat back. Lately, I've been hearing about some problems with Magnaflow.

This is off ZZP's Website.
"Our 3" downpipe includes a Magnaflow converter, which flows 40% more than the stock unit. It eliminates the 2" restriction and the dimple where the O2 sensor normally resides. Look for gains of 5HP on a stock engine and over 10 on a modified Cobalt."

It is your Downpipe/Header Combo That makes it sounds like this. Put your Stock Header/DP back on and it will sound good again.

Nope. I had the resonator replaced first because it was rattling and loose inside. Then about two weeks later I had the header and resonator put on and it sounded awesome! Then about a month after they were put on is when the "fart can" sound started happening.

Shouldn't be. If it was the car would be running like crap right now and the wideband would have picked that up.

Probably your choice of header...
Mine sounds a bit like a fart can now that I have the mid-length on.

Still can be the header...
Mine didn't get loud until after it had 'broken in'.

About 2 weeks after the install, it started to get loud.
