Well, one is when i start the car, it sometimes starts normally, but most time i start it the RPMS will stay around 500, and il have no power, or torque whats so ever.. sometimes it wont even start..

any idea what it may be ?

the second one is, i have "check charger system" pop up on my dash.. what could that be ?

please help ?

car is a 06 cobalt ls, 50k miles

check charging system- you may have a problem in your charging system. poor battery, bad connection, or your alts not charging properly.. check your batt voltage while not running. should be about 12.6v. check voltage while engine is running, should be around 14.4v, but can range from 12.6-15 depending on regulator and loads. I'd fix your electrical problem first before worrying about everything else, since it needs sufficient power to operate properly.

please explain your lack of power concern better.. does it always do this? how does it run and drive?

my lack of power, when i start it up its not normal, the RPMs stays around 500rpm and when i put it in first i have to rev up to about 4500rpms just to move..and if i try to drive on it, my check engine light turns on after a few mins
thats when it doesnt start normal..

when it starts normal i have power, and can move in 1000 rpm.
