Some people buy a new car every two years, and threat them like disposables. Never once pop the hood, change or even check the oil. Just add gas and go. Good luck to anyone who buys them as a used car!

your telling me. my mom has a 08 impala lease. 40k on the clock with two more years on the contract. she changes the oil only when the D.I.C. tells her to.

Theres nothing wrong with following the DIC, this WILL NOT happen if you follow the DIC and use quality oil as recommended.

X3 her and her mom were 2000 miles past the time to change it and both about 2 quarts low.. So now I bug both of them to check and change there oil frequently

Jesus christ someone sticky this to answer the burning question once and for all...it's there for a reason, but changing it sooner doesn't hurt. Leaving it well after the OLM hits 0, not so good .
