Misfire Help
#76
Alright so i threw the P0300 code the other day, so i changed the plugs and tried again. then my interceptor said from 8- 22 misfires at any moment. i checked the gap and everything and it appears fine, and the new plugs are fine. its mostly misfing in cylinder 1. i need help
mine did that bad when i had some messed up plugs. but you changed them...
move injectors around too i guess see if the problem follows.
what changed when the problem started?
forgive me if i missed it above!

I don't have an interceptor or wideband at the moment, but I have had my codes read and have had the P0300 come up more and more frequently lately. Originally, after we put the cams in, we had these non flowmatched SD 60's in my car and it ran better than stock. Then we switched out to Lucas 42.5's cause there was no need for the 60's at the time. This past fall we went back down there and got more aggressive w/ the tune same 60's and I think one was seated improperly at first. That caused a lot of smoke on the dyno, so we re-seated it and everything was peachy, except my numbers were lower than we expected.
When I got back to Albany, was the first time it read the misfire code, and it took a few months before it started to act really funny because of it. If the car idles for too long, it'll start bucking pretty bad and sound like a boxer engine. Shut it off for 15 seconds and you're back to normal. Car runs great at WOT and above 2Krpm. Recently, it has started to go into the simptom of the boxer engine and poor performance (practical zero drivability) while sitting at stop lights. It started to get worse after I cleaned up my throttle body to fix my other idle issues. I spent a good amount of time on the phone w/ some guru's and this is where I stand. I'm 90% certain that when they put my injectors on the flowbench, one of them is going to either be significantly off from the others or damaged. I'm labeling the injectors before I ship them out and am pretty sure the the injector from c2 will be the culprit...
P.S. - I pulled my plugs and re-gapped them. They looked great. NGK BKR7e

Mine were not flowmatched and I'm pretty sure one was damaged. I've heard most of the companies that sell the flowmatched injectors, break them out to +/- 5%. Racetronix matches injectors to within +/- 1%. I wouldn't buy injectors from anyone else...

I'm waiting on a reply from them, just messaged them yesterday. I would send it to Racetronix over ZZP anyways. Nothing against ZZP, but Racetronix are the best when it comes to injectors.

wow. thats the exact same as mine. mine is running very very strong above 2K RPM's and then below that it just spits and sputters. and my aeroforce is showing ridiculous amounts of misfires in cyl.1 but theres also misfires in cyl2
i talked with zzp and they told me theres no way that it could bethe injectors. they sold 2000 and never had 1 bad 1 out of all of them. we all know that sometimes theres always an exception

That is exactly why I am going to Racetronix instead of ZZP. The symptoms and scenario lead to injectors, but they are so defensive about their products that they won't even entertain the idea of testing them to rule it out as a possibility. It almost seems like they have something to hide. I'm not typically a skeptic, but I tend to stick w/ my guys cause they prove day-in/day-out that they know their ****. Matt @ Tune Time Performance and Ryan @ RD Fabs. I'm proud to say that they're the only people that touch my car.
