Problems/Service/Maintenance Do you have problems with your new 2.0, 2.2, or 2.4L? What kind of service did you have done?

My timing is off! Help!

My timing is off! Help!

Hey guys, i have a 05 supercharge ss............ i deen having problems every sense i go it..... at it first it was the crankshaft sensor, then the camshaft sensor...........i chage them but i still had problems......(the car would not start on the first try..... it would take some times 3 or 4 times) and some times if i floored it would die.............. anyway, i took it to the dealer yesterday and they told me they think my timing is off............... i was wondering if you guys knew what tha meant and if you would expleain if how to do it.......... but any information would help so please let me know thank you

its when your spark plugs dont spark when theyre supposed to..

dam, re timing the eco's is a bitch w/ all the balancer shafts and stuff. how it works is that you have a timing chain that is attached to your crank shaft that then turns the cam shafts. if you were to apply too much force to this it could slip one tooth on the chain causing problems like you are having now. if you dont have a garage of your own then i would say your going to have to have someone do it for you.

from reading your post.. you do NOT need to even try to fix this.. take your car somewhere and let them fix it... timing is like a blueprint of the motor.. you dont need to play in here unless u know what your doing..

There are two kinds of timing. Ignition and valvetrain. Your problems describe a valvetrain timing issue. I assume you purchased this car used and have always had this problem. Because the timing doesn't get off unless somebody messes with it.

This is a serious problem. Take it in ASAP.

yeah before you put a valve through a piston and cause some real damage...

and never buy a used "boy racer" car. just asking for trouble man.
