Pics are up of new wheels!

I took my car in for a few things the recall, and I was having a thud in the front left of the car when I hit sharp bumps. I also had them look at the paint on my wheels. Its flaking like many others on here. I told them I didnt want them repainted because Ive heard to many horror stories about them flaking agian or it just not looking right. Im more intrested in the polished wheels anyway. The GM rep approved and I checked on the the GM accessories wheels and found out somethign pretty shocking to me.
Warranty will pay $680 each for the factory gunmetal wheels
Gm accessories wheels cost $478 and some change.

So it saved GM money to let me get these wheels. They even threw in some locking lugs. Anybody thats having problems getting there wheels fixed call your dealership and ask to speak with there GM rep. I used to work at this dealership and everybody including the Gm rep knows me on a first name bassist, but that had nothing to do with anything. Its the simple facts and GM is up to saving money. The service writers and managers may not want to hear that but its true and the GM rep will agree.

I like those as well.

Question though: The painted wheels people speak of.. Are they special orders or what? My 06 SS came with plain aluminum 5 spokes. They look good and I would think they're not prone to 'flaking' anything

According to my window sticker, the pollished alloys are the upgrade option over the gunmetal wheels. I think pollished was like a $370 dollar option(I think thats what it was)

There was..the main reason I posted about it was because the polished wheels are cheaper than the gunmetals.

About the weight I think there close to stock

They are really nice. I kind of like them more than the gunmetal wheels. I wonder how they would look on mine being silver. Not sure if polished would go great with gunmetal. I may have to look into this. Mine are chipping too. So I should just call sometime and ask them if they can replace the stock ones with these under warrenty due to chipping and see if they can do that for me? I would like to see a pic of them on a silver ss/sc.

The optional polished wheels for 07 SS-SC are forged and the painted (gun metal) are cast. Forged are more expensive to produce and are stronger.
