Need control arm help asap!!!!

story is i recently tried to pull my control arms out to change those garbage bushings. They're the ones closer to the back with the bolt going straight up through them. anyways whats happened is that the sleeve on the inside of the bushing has seized to the bolt and the rubber is so corroded that when i tried to loosen the bolt the sleeve sepparated from the rubber and now the bolt wont come out. HAPPENED ON BOTH SIDES!!!! so if anyone has ran into this problem before and has some advice it would be great

cant unbolt it. the bolt is 130mm long and with that sleeve seized to it i cant spin out more than a few threads. i've seen this before with leaf spring shackles on older vehicles and just tourched it but thats not really an option in this spot. horrible design from gm in my opinion

If I remember correctly the nut that the bolt goes to is captured. It sounds to me like you need to get yourself a breaker bar and a cheater pipe and apply more force to it. Even with the sleeves completely separated from the rubber and "seized" to the bolt the tension created from threading the bolt out will break it loose. Impact wrenches can be your friend here.

What kind of impact? Electric tend to be total garbage and I had to break mine loose by hand. It takes some force. You already have the rest of the front suspension disassembled right? A snipe in my experience is a side cutter or tin snips.

Get yourself an Ingersoll-Rand Titanium 1/2" drive gun, crank the air pressure up to about 150PSI on the compressor, turn the dial to the highest setting, and give her hell.

Oh boy.

Spray with penetrant, leave overnight. Apply some heat with propane torch first thing in morning, immediately apply man strength. If you lack man strength seek out father for assistance, if he also lacks man strength, mother may substitute.

For real, the nut behind it is supposed to be captured, IF you broke it you've got only a couple choices one of which is to gain access to said nut and re tack it into place. Which means if you don't have a welder, plasma cutter, things of that nature you'd probably have to take it to a shop.
