Got the new gmpp clutch and now my tranny is hardcore whining. I'm not sure what tranny oil the mechanic put in. But it's a pretty good whine when slowing down from second and first. Also the clutch can get wreaking pretty good but I'm assuming that's because it's breaking in cause I ain't riding it at all. Hard to ride it when it engages off the floor lol

If it engages right of the floor it needs bled.
You better check the fluid before you drive it more.

Check the oil, and make sure he put the correct stuff, if it isnt red, take it out. Alot of idiots put gear oil in the tranny, due to its cheaper. I swapped my tranny from a car that caught on fire, and i have a little whine while in first gear also. Not to worried though.

Originally when I did the tranny myself I put in red fluid but it had additives. And I know that's a no no but at the time it's all the part stores had in my area. Now he may have re used it and that could be the whine maybe? He prolly drained the new fluid and reused it. Also it's the gmpp clutch kit so it's suppose to be off the floor I shoulda informed that on the original post. I like it off the floor better. I think the only way to stop that is to get the ZZP adjustable rod or whatever. But it's a very distinct whine down on deceleration. It's annoying. And it did start to do that before the clutch job but I assumed it was old fluid. My brake fluid is topped up nicely and clutch pedal is nice and firm. It's an lsj as we'll.

That is incorrect. I have the GMPP clutch kit and I can tell you for certain that it should not engage immediately off of the floor. You do not need an adjustable clutch rod either, that is a band aide fix. If your clutch is engaging right off of the floor then your system needs bled.

As for the fluid, you should only be using the OEM GM fluid for the LSJ or LNF. Part numbers are in the stick at the top of the drivetrain forum; or search it.

We'll it's not right right off the floor. But allot closer to the bottom than stock clutch. Feel is a lighter more pressure in pedal. It's nicer than stock for sure

With the hydraulic clutch system in these cars the engagement should not differ drstically between clutches. There should be a couple inches of travel off of the floor. Also, you should not have to jamb the clutch into the floor for it to be working (this can cause voer entension of the TOB). The GMPP feels a tad more firm than stock, but it shouldnt be a drastic difference. If it is then there are some other issues.

Ya there's a few inches. Just my stock clutch was slipping. And it didn't engage till like halfway or more up. My pressure plate had cracks in the fingers and the flywheel was blued. It was slipping good. The part that drives me nuts is the reason I replaced it all I'm the first place is because A) it was slipping and B) I had a grinding noise that sounded like input shaft bearings. The tranny shop cracked my trannt open to get back my spyder hears I dropped in there and they said everything seemed totally fine so they didn't install the input bearings I bought. But still makes the grinding sound. Kinda pissed. And now I got the whine. So would the wrong gear oil with additives make my tranny whine that bad?

It could whine from that. Pick up the OEM fluid and put it in. If the whine and grind is still there then I would be sourcing a new trans soon so that you are ready when it goes.

1st and reverse it will whine a bit and more if you change gears @ higher rpm. But 2nd I've never had.

So I've noticed now after a week of driving it. It's hard to get into first. I usually have to double clutch to get it into first. Also shifting into second it grinds when engaging. Sometimes hard to get into second. Double clutch gets it in fine tho. It downshifts perfect tho? A couple times i put it In second and it will pop out into nuetral. I have the clutch pedal all the way down. Does this sound like typical wrong trannt fluid with additives? Or maybe it needs a better bleeding? Wanna remedy this week because snow is coming very soon.

You still havent changed the fluid?
Dude, if the wrong fluid was in there, or gear oil, and you have been driving it the damage is done now.
Sounds like some serious wear issues.
If the clutch is bled out and working properly then it is not your issue.
Your tans should not make grinding noises.
Are you sure the shop actually opened up the trans and didnt just say they did?

They had to open it to get back my spyder gear that fell in there when I turned my output shaft when changing the clutch. No I haven't changed it yet. I only drive 3 km to work everyday and it's been snowing all week. I know I need to get the correct stuff. I'm just not totally sure if the wrong fluid would cause my issues or not

The tranny never did this before the clutch job.

I'm no pro but I's say ask a friend at work to pick you up and get your car checked out. A $400 problem could turn into $4000.
