Okay I have another question everyone!Why is there a strong smell of gasoline when I turn on my car. Is that normal? I feel like im getting paranoid with my cobalt D: lol
I know i have a gas code but i forgot what it was..

I just did my master cylinder and break booster and it's the first thing I have ever replaced on a car ever took like 2 hrs to do it. Just buy the parts and do it urself.

as for reapirs. it does sound like you are paying more than you should have too.
i used to work for Midas. when we would buy parts it was our cost X 2.7 for the customer. so that $10 air filter is $27 + .2-.4 labor to change it. the current labor rate here is $109/hr.
$27 filter
$44 Labor
$71 - for an air filter. usually we would work the number to get it below $60, but you can see how it can add up depending on the companies practices and how they adjust their pricing over what they pay.
1988-1997 Honda Acccords with the rotor pressed on the hub, 1.8 hours per side for labor. remember they charge by the book, not by actual time.
