update, changed the pulley and voila no more diesel engine sound. but i do not have the cover im affraid thats why the other pulley didnt last long.

for future reference you can usually just unbolt the pulley and put your finger in the bearing and spin the pulley on your finger, if its rough at all its bad.

you cant physically spin the pulley fast enough to tell

the noise is back it wasn the pulley, im pretty sure its the tentioner, they must have not heard the noise in the shop when they checked it out.
