no valvoline oil changes for cobalts?
So my 07 ss/sc just hit 3k miles, no problems at all so far, got the gmpp exhaust and tint so i call around a bit and my dealership has no openings for an oil change till the 24th and says ide have to leave the car there for the day , doesnt work well for me since i get sundays and mondays off from work. call another GM dealer and they cant get me in till thursday which doesnt work either . SO i think wtf ille head to valvoline and get it done. Get there and the tech says he can't do ss/sc's because of where the oil filter is because it is a poor design and ide have to wait a couple hours for the car to col down , never heard of that before but i call another dealership and they get me in today its about a half hour away but worth it i think. So my guess is valvoline doesnt do ss/sc's? They service guy i talked to said he does them no probelm and that they are the same as the g5/g6 so should go pretty smooth.

They really aren't that bad, but it is smart to let them cool off because the filter is on the top side right under the intake tubing and stuff. It isn't as hard of an oil change as my darn Malibu was.

I realize its brand new, and you're trying to get the warranty off to a good start, but I'd suggest just learning to do it yourself. It'll be MUCH cheaper and most likely faster since you're not driving all over town looking for a place that will do it.

I cant believe that ***** valvoline bullshit. Tell them to put on a pair of gloves and do it. Lazy ass MFers. I always change my own oil. It only takes me about 5 mins to change the filter. Believe me i know filters that are worse.

I change my own oil, its cheaper and i know it gets done right.
ive got a few buddies who work @ the local valvoline oil change place, and theyve done my womans car, and some other ss/sc's.

Hey worked out pretty good. I guess SS balts are rare! but all they guys there loved the car.
Ide love to change my own oil but it all stems back to the warranty issue, so from now on i think i found a place that will do it

I like pennsoil for my 05 LS. That is all I use in all my vehicles. I change my own oil every 3000 to 4000 miles. My 89 s10 Blazer has 234000 miles on it and still going strong with just regular maintenance and accessorie replacement, starter, alt, ect. Keep your reciepts when you buy oil and fiter. I put milage, date and oil life %. At 3000 miles it is about 49% on my 05 LS.

oh yeah. some volkswagens and old gm 3.8s (ones where the filter is mid level on block and from bottom you have snake your arm over the control arm, under the tie rod, over the axle, get your arm jammed there and hope no one gets in the car! and hope to god it isnt too tight.)
