Well I Figured I'd Throw This Together Just List Your Name, Model.trim..problems With Power Steering ..number Of Trips To The Dealer...

Problems...my Powersteering Will Shut Off Randomly..powersteering Will Flash On The Dic...along With That My Gauges Will Freak Out Rpms Will Drop To Zero....low Fuel Light...speedo Drops To Zero..pass Key Light Will Flash And Abs Will Flash....

I've Been To The Dealer 8+ Times, They Have Been Cool..but They Just Cant Fix It...my Pcm .and Bcm Has Been Replace...i Throw Ignition Codes.. Mostly Lost Communication Codes Between The Bcm And Pcm....

a friend of mine had the problem with gauges doin the similar deal but no power steering loss....he pulled off a harness connected to the ECU and looked at it an it had **** all over it so he used electrical cleaner an cleaned it up an put i back on an everythings been good since

Did anyone else have this issue. I have the same issue with my 09 turbo. I cleaned the ECU up a bit by picking off the excess dielectric gel. Maybe I will need to use electric cleaner. Please post I am going on a 5000 mile road trip next week and woudl like to have this solved

that problem sound like your car was hit by a lightning,I fixed cars here in my work place(gm dealer)with the same symptom(lost communication between modules,display messages)....etc.

I am wondering how Slow Balt resolved this problem. Where i live I do not think we have had lightning since i bought the car.

Dude I live in Cali no lighting after they replaced my bcm and remembered to reflash the car it wasn't came back it's been bout 15 k

Just picked up my '90 T/C sedan on Friday. I now have 542 miles on it, and today the DIC "power steering" error came on 3 separate times. The first time was randomly while going down the road, the other two times were about 1-2minutes after starting the car (from sitting 15-90minutes). Did cleaning the ECU help jc? Anyone else been having problems with this? Not excited about this problem with the mileage!

Well i thought this was thread complaining about how it sucks in general. They only problem i've had with mine was after my dumb ass jumped the car going over a bridge it went away till i restarted the car.

Cleaning the ECU did not work. Another member(same problem) who previously posted said he got a New Body Control Module and he hasnt had an issue since. My car is currently at my dealer now, I told them how Slowbalt solved this problem. I will wait and see what they decide to do.

mine did that...so the dealer replaced the whole engine wiring harness and never had a problem since

My dealer's telling me I need a new power steering motor. Sound reasonable? Been waiting a week for the part. Power steering is completely gone now, goes out as soon as car is started...

what did you do to fix it? new motor? harness? ecu?

Hm... I've had this happen to me once while driving down the interstate and 3x in my driveway getting ready for work. It hasn't happened in about 7/8 months, but IDK how to fix the problem.

They had to replace some power steering seal on my TC I was loosing oil very little

P/S motors are common failures

They can be serviced seperately from the column now. Thank God!

I have the same steering issue of it going out. I have a 07 LS Cobalt. I might be able to get a 09 Cobalt steering motor. Will it fit the same as in my 07 and did they fix the probs with the steering motor in the 09 models?

I got another P/S motor off ebay. The car I got the part off supposedly only had a lil over 10k before it got in a wreck. It came with the whole steering column also. Problem is even with this P/S motor, my steering light still comes on and I loose power steering. What else could be causing this problem?

I had to rip apart the dash turned out to be a short that caused mine
