So this morning on my way to work I bounced off the rev limiter in 4th gear.
I immediately got a CEL and went into limp mode. I shut down and restarted, and it felt like normal, but the CEL light is still on.
I wont be able to read the code until this afternoon and will have to drive nearly 60 miles to get home.
Is this typical? To throw a code when hitting the limiter?

Did you get any wheel hop?
That's the only time I've gotten it after hitting the rev limiter. Taking the RPMs that high may have caused the computer to think something was wrong internally since it obviously can't rationalize that you were the one doing it.
You might just have to disconnect the battery and let the computer reset. Let us know what the code is, though so we can help in the future.

Yeah, I can read and clear it at home. I just was curious because I am going to worry about it all day.
I also got a SVC ESC notification on the DIC.
There was no wheel hop.

i see you are trifecta tuned. when i had my hhrss,i had just got trifecta tuned and i hit the rev a few times and this happend (wasn't use to it yet lol). i think it's just an overboost code if i remember. i would clear it and it would be fine. then one day it stopped doing it.

Sorry, third gear. Not fourth. It was third. Because there was no way I was going 130. I was closer to 95. It was an overboost code. I cleared it.
For the record, I was pre 5:00 AM, there wasnt a car on my side of the road and I had a straight shot. Figured I would lay into it a little.
I just thought I had my overboost problem fixed.

Just saw your 09TC, was wondering how you got overboost and how much it was...
I got over 100 mph in 3rd gear without hitting the rev lim and it was in the middle of the day with cars all arround me

Thats the weird part, I had my tune activated, which should allow me 22 psi, and I didnt see the guage surpass that.
Sooo.... Idunno. I'm not worried about it at this point.
I had to get on it Saturday to get on the highway, because apparently in Pennsylvania its okay to stop at the end of an on ramp. So once that dick hole FINALLY "merged" onto the highway, I had to get up to speed quickly. I had it floored in second, and then third. The boost held and didnt spike.
So, I will chalk Friday morning up to a fluke.
