Outside Temperature Reader

So yeah, we got the car apart (headlights, doors, fenders, etc off) to put on lambo door hinges, and when we got everything back together, my OTR shows just lines now instead of a temp. Periodically it will flash a temperature. But even on a 95 degree day, it is showing -22 degrees when it does the flash. LOL That's not right at all. I will mention too, that when we did it, I disconnected the battery. Does it need reset somehow through the DIC? Or is something else probably? Not that it matters too much, but its better than it showing "---" Thanks in advance if you can help.

Don't really know what the cause is but if you find out where the sensor is, maybe it by the doors and you knocked it around a bit. I know it's not from unplugging the battery, I've had mine unplugged numerous amounts of times and for pretty lengthy periods and it never messed with my temp thing

are you sure its not just an intake air sensor? i think that would be the easiest way to measure ambient air

That would give the temperature reading for the current outside? The motor temp/coolant temp thing shows fine in the DIC...its just the OTR thats off. Was kind of a neat feature, so I wouldn't mind having that work. I think its just hooked up to some kind of thermometer type thing, if it measure air heat, right?

Yeah, needless to sya they aren't on...damn Ebay Universal kit. But, I'll just get the kit from cobalt-addiction, and it'll be all good. Universal doesn't take into account for a newer car on the market. Got someone interested in mine though. Not going for speed really on this. Even after I get a turbo, I won't use it to potential....just there to say I have one.

The outside temp harness plugs into the headlight support bracket, the black bracket the headlight bolts to. Maybe you didn't plug it back in? OR maybe a wire got pinched?

I'm looking to sell them actually....I don't want to weld them on. IL winters just don't work for those kinds of doors, so I need a bolt on kit. Or, no kit at all. Dunno =/

I did a bit of research on lambos a while back....considered doing it....until i realised that 85% of lambo kits on the market are basically a joke.

If your gonna pay 500-1500 for a lambo kit....they will work ok.....for a show car....that gets opened/closed to go to the show and sit there. then go home and get worked on....
but daily driving will wear regular lambo hinges to hell in about 12 months.

A daily driver lambo kit is something that is very similar looking to the other hinges....but instead of metal on metal, every pivot in them is strengthened and uses bearings.
basically if you want lambos that you use more than 4-5 times a week, expect to pay around $2500-3500.

This is info from alot of manufacturers....and 2 people i spoke to in person and 1 online who have gone through the nightmare of learning this the hard way and having to pull off junk lambo door kits.

They only have one hole that lines up. I guess our cars might be too new for the "universal" kits to be direct bolt on. So yeah, any strength at all would require welding. Oh well.
