P0442 and AFR all over the place
A few months back I got a CEL for a EVAP system small leak. After a few weeks it went off by itself. Came back on last month, I cleared it off myself this time and about 3 weeks later it has come back on yet again. This time, my AFR is fluctuating like crazy. It'll drop to 14.1 and then spike up to 15.3 at idle. Would this be caused by a faulty gas cap or the purge solenoid on the engine? I know the leak could be ANYWHERE but I'm wondering if this is related to the AFR being all over the place and if it's an easy fix? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Stock 09 LNF

Rather than create a new thread i thought I'd bring this one back to life.. Replaced the purge solenoid
on the intake manifold after I installed my new zzp intercooler/bumper. I had hit a coyote that destroyed my stock IC and bumper. After the new install cleared all the codes and I noticed pretty quickly a light odor of gasoline fumes coming through the AC vents, but only at idle. Can also smell it outside the car a little
Bit. It's not terribly strong at all and it kinda comes and goes. A week later the p0442 code came back for the small leak. Would the purge valve on the canister by the tank be the next thing to check? Or could this possibly be a gas cap issue? Haven't had any issues starting the car like I've seen in other threads with EVAP issues. I'm out of ideas.. 09 stock LNF

Check the evap lines under the car for rust. A small leak for an evap system is only a couple thousands of an inch hole, so they are very hard to find. Pretty much requires a smoke machine.

and the purge valve. I had the cel off and on for a couple months and never had the odor. Hoping it's not something from the impact hitting the coyote. If it's the Evap lines under the car, are they easy to replace? I'm at 150k in a warm/dry weather climate.

They arent that hard to replace but they shouldnt be rusted in your area. Just inspect for damage. The lines from the firewall forward, and by the tank are made of vinyl so check those for cracks.
