P0442 or P0455

I have a check engine light on in my balt and I don't remember if it was the P0442 or the P0455. Anyone know what causes this error or anyway to get rid of it? I tried autozone and he cleared the code, but when I turned on the car again, it came back on.....Any help is appreciated. This all started when someone stole my gas cap and I had to get it replaced.

P0442 Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Small Leak Detected -ECM, PCM

P0455 Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Large Leak Detected -PCM

your gas cap isnt sealing correct.. go to the stealership and get a OEM cao and you'll be good.. shouldnt cause any problems...

those are both codes for EVAP system leaks....there's actually a bulliten out on those cars to inspect evap hose by the fuel take for a small hole in it.......but make sure you have a good gas cap before you start worrying about that

God i wish i could say the same thing about my balt... I'm on the second gas cap and the light is back on again.

Does anyone else have problems with filling up at the pump? Every station I try to fill up at, the pumps shut off every half gallon. Its highly annoying and the dealerships have NO CLUE wtf is going on and why its causing it. But, i was told that if there is a problem that they find out, my car would be the the reason they'll post a bulletin.

dude mine does that too...a quick fix that I use is to not squeeze the gas pump all the way. Only squeeze the handle about half to a quarter of the way and it will fill right up. Just takes a few seconds longer is all...
