parking brake stopped working
Well car rolled down in school parking lot but good thing it didnt hit anyone or anything so car is fine campus policed looked for me at class so i went to move my car and started to check it in class. Noticed brake fluid was a bit above min so i added more. That seemed to make the driver rear caliper start catching the way it was supposed to, but the passenger side one i can still turn the wheel with the parking brake on. I bleeded the system already no air in the system.
When i was driving home the rear brakes started catching and it was making a squeaking sound. I released some of the tension of the brake cable and i dont hear or feel any more grabbing. But i still think the passenger caliper is bad anyone know a way of how to check for sure? Also im at about 10 clicks for the ebrake to engage completely and now the car wont roll down if i leave it in a hill or anything with a drop (used to do it before). Also i can kinda feel like only my side is grabbing when i put the ebrake on but that might just be me being paranoid lol
Also im looking for a replacement and i found the part number 25902073 and i want to make sure that is it if i do need it.
Any help is greatly appreciated

Had a similar issue a few years back, Driver side brake caliper was bad. If the e-brake isn't holding on one side it could be that the yoke that connects the cables has came loose due to the bad caliper sticking. You can check the cables in the center console just to the rear of the e-brake behind a plastic panel. I'll get you a picture when I get home.

Its connected ive check the cables but if you can post your pic to ccompareit would be great.
After a closer look yeah passenger side ebrake isnt working. If the brake pedal is applied the piston moves and i cant move the wheel (so during normal driving im fine) but if i just put the ebrake on the piston doesnt move (everything that is connected to the cables moves) so it looks like the ebrake mechanism isnt working inside the caliper. but the caliper itself is working for braking, its weird. I will be posting pics up in a bit

i had this issue happen to me. but it was the clamp/hinge in the rear drum brake that had snapped. i changed it and works fine now.
these red wu tang clan looking things....
that was my issue, don't think same as yours.

The thing is that the way that is pulling the most is the side that isnt working. The only thing i see is that the side that is bad the ebrake line is pinched but it just removed the plastic no damage to anything inside

Lol yeah that would help out. Anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Im thinking of replacing the caliper but if i dont have to ill prefer not to

Your cable set looks about the same as mine. Not sure you can repair the e-brake mechanism. But my caliper was worst it would stick under normal braking also. Had to have the caliper replaced for about $600 at the dealer.

Yeah it looks about the same. Thanks for the pic yeah thats what i was thinking so it seems i will be needing to buy a new caliper and i would install it myself so i would save on labor for sure. Can anyone just verify the P/N 25902073 i posted is the correct one for me?

Lol mine hasnt been working properly for like a month but it had never rolled like yesterday. I must say the first thing i asked campus police was if it had hitting something. But yeah that sucks ill look to see where i can find a new caliper for cheaper

Anyone have a how to for the line replacement? Pretty sure mine is toast bc I have zero tension when I pull up the ebrake. I still have to check under the console to see what's going on in there.

I might just do it since the one going to the right caliper was pinched probably while the car was lifted or something and usually it doesnt rain to much here but i wouldnt want the cable to start to rust and brake off later. Already see a bit of surface rust so i know thats not good
