Question Pass. door goes "pop!", how/why?

I've had this problem for about the past 3 months. I figured since it was winter, that the door popping was just something that was cold or needed lubed. Well today my dad and I decided to have a look at it and it turns out it's actually rubbing against the fender.

Right where my black/red circle is at, that's where its rubbing and making the popping noise. Once it gets warm we're gonna take the side skirt off and see if a bolt or something is loose or whats pushing it out. Anyone have any ideas as to what happened to make the fender shift? I've never, ever hit anything too so nothing should have shifted.

Thanks!

there is two bolts behind the side skirt. you dont have to remove the side skirt just remove the screw from the fender well any pull it outward and you can access the two bolts to move the fender.

I have it to. It's not the door. It's the fender. Unbolt it and adjust the fender. Soon it will scratch the paint deep and rust.

Maybe someone hit you very lightly and pushed it in? Should be an easy fix, if not just put a little tip of electrical tape in the inner side and it might help with the rubbing until it falls off lol

it maybe the upper and/or lower door hinge pins are worn out and letting the door pivot down.

Mine does it too but never really looked into it. Always wondered if my car was in a previous accident and previous owner never recorded it or something.

how did you check?
open door to first position on door break.
grasp door at top and bottom. try to move it vertically up and down. If you see movement in the hinges thats what it is.

hinges are not cheap and dont come painted.

I forgot to mention, we actually did the "grab door and rock" thing. The hinges are solid. My dad got the idea to put like 2 tongue depressors in between the door and the fender and then close the door slightly. It was just enough to push the fender outwards and not pop/rub as loud. We're still gonna look at it when it gets warmer out, but until then this will be good enough.

i had it and fixed it. 2 bolts behind the side skirt. Loosen the back one, open the door and put a wood shim where the door rubs, close the door, tighten the bolt back up. fixed for me, perfect as of 5 days.
