please tell me its not a head gasket

i checked my oil today and when i took off the oil cap i noticed that it had yellow "sludge" looking stuff on it, which leads me to believe condensation due to the 20 degree temperature drop outside over the last 2 days. but then i pulled the dipstick, and saw a little bit of it on the end. heres a picture

would a blown head gasket cause that? or do you think its just condensation

Might just be condensation...

Did you try wiping the dipstick off and looking at it again?

Sounds like condensation to me, as long as the oil doesn't appear a milky brown color you're ok. Maybe go ahead and change the oil just to stay on the safe side.

Today I went on a 4 mile round trip to the bank. I have also been getting a misfire code, and can feel it missing at idle every now and then, but I believe that it is tune related

That yellow-ish condensation is simply a result of the oil not getting hot enough to burn it off. Common in cold weather and when doing alot of very short distance driving like that.

My oil cap was covered, it's just moisture. Maybe you're taking too many short trips or something. It's nothing to be worried about. I didn't have anything on my dip stick. My cap had that stuff on it before I ever went supercharged and I wiped it off and it hasn't come back.

It tests your coolant for exhaust fumes or something like that

You need to take a long trip to burn that out. That can actually wreck bearings if it build up too much.

Go for a LONG drive.
