Popping out of 2nd gear!!

I replaced my shifter bracket with the revised bracket that ZZP sells. It feels much better but when I'm turning and try to shift into second it just pops right out. Anyone had this issue?

This is why I was a little hesitant to buy one but then again, it could be maladjusted. My mustang used to pop pout of 3rd but that was because the syncros were toast lol

there are few short shifters IF ANY that have the OEM trouble free means of dropping a spring loaded section of the shift lever into a corresponding slot to permit proper adjustment.

I'm ACTH replacing my shifter with a Hurst STS. Might this be my solution? Any experience with these?

I don't believe the bracket can be adjusted. All it is is a couple set screws and nothing more.

the shifter mechanism in the car has cable clamps. They can be adjusted.

How would I adjust if the gear pops out. Just tighten the clamps?

So I figured what the problem was. There's a pivot socket for the shifter which is plastic as well as the the pivot ball on the shifter. These two pieces were so worn out it wasn't kicking 2nd gear all the way in. I have not yet been able to find the pivot socket but I'm still doing much better now that the Hurst STS is in there. The extra length of the lower part of the shifter compensates for the wear in the pivot socket. Will replace soon, hopefully. Thanks to everyone who shared their ideas.
