porous block issue on 05 ss/sc

I'm thinking of buying an 05 ss/sc but the engine was replaced. The guy says it was due to a porous block issue? I thought the porous block issue was only on turbo's.

I dont think the SS SUpercharged had the porous block issue, only the 2009 SS/TCs do.
